The festival, inaugurated by Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur, kicks off with the screening of the British film “Catching Dust,” a gripping tale of a wife seeking liberation from her criminal husband. This edition of IFFI Kaleidoscope brings together 198 films, including 13 World Premieres, 18 International Premieres, 62 Asia premieres, and 89 India Premieres, highlighting the global diversity of cinema.

Indian Panorama showcases 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films, featuring opening films “Aattam” from Malayalam cinema and “Andro Dreams” in the Manipuri language. Renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur leads the jury, accompanied by a panel of experts including Spanish cinematographer Jose Luis Alcaine and producers Jerome Paillard, Catherine Dussart, and Helen Leake.

A notable addition this year is the introduction of the Best Web Series (OTT) category, overseen by filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani and a five-member jury, reflecting the evolving landscape of digital entertainment.

The festival’s spotlight shines brightly on Hollywood legend Michael Douglas, set to receive the prestigious Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award, a testament to his illustrious career adorned with 2 Oscars, 5 Golden Globe Awards, an Emmy Award, and numerous other accolades.

The grand opening ceremony promises a mesmerizing display of talent, with Bollywood stars Shahid Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, and Nushratt Bharucha taking the stage, alongside luminaries such as Catherine Zeta-Jones, AR Rahman, Vidya Balan, Karan Johar, and Sara Ali Khan. The event reaches its pinnacle on November 28 with a closing ceremony featuring performances by Ayushmann Khurrana and musician Amit Trivedi.
