R Madhavan’s Heartfelt Confession: ‘I Wanted to Marry Juhi Chawla After Watching Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak

R. Madhavan and Juhi Chawla, the dynamic duo of Bollywood, recently stole the spotlight in the OTT series ‘The Railway Men.’ However, it’s not just their on-screen chemistry that’s making headlines. In a surprising confession, Madhavan revealed a long-kept secret—he once harbored dreams of marrying Juhi Chawla after being captivated by her performance in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.’

The charismatic R. Madhavan and the ever-graceful Juhi Chawla, both renowned figures in the world of showbiz, have once again dazzled audiences with their performances in the latest OTT series, ‘The Railway Men.’ While the series focuses on the Bhopal gas tragedy, the real bombshell dropped when Madhavan openly confessed his past desire to marry Juhi.

In a recent video released by Netflix, Madhavan couldn’t contain his admiration for Juhi as he recalled a pivotal moment from his past. “When I watched Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, I told my mom, ‘I want to marry Juhi Chawla.’ That was the only aim—to marry Juhi Chawla,” he confessed with a smile. Although fate had different plans, Madhavan expressed gratitude that Juhi agreed to join the series.

Interestingly, Madhavan revealed that the desire to work with Juhi had always been there, but circumstances led to them not sharing the screen until ‘The Railway Men.’ He mentioned how he couldn’t collaborate with her initially as she came on board after he had already shot his portions.

Speaking of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, the 1988 romantic musical directed by Mansoor Khan, Madhavan’s revelation adds a nostalgic touch. The film, which marked the debut of Aamir Khan and starred Juhi Chawla, received critical acclaim and won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

As for their recent collaboration in ‘The Railway Men,’ Madhavan, alongside Juhi Chawla, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu, and Babil Khan, showcased their acting prowess. The series, created and directed by Shiv Rawail and written by Aayush Gupta, delves into the heart-wrenching events of the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy.

Madhavan, not one to rest on his laurels, has more projects in the pipeline. From the Hindi remake of Vash to the intriguingly titled ‘Amriki Pandit’ and two Tamil films, his diverse portfolio continues to expand. Meanwhile, Juhi was recently spotted alongside Babil in ‘Friday Night Plan.’

In an interview with The Indian Express, Madhavan shared insights into his approach to projects, stating, “If I can sleepwalk through a project and it’s something I’ve done before, it is disqualified for me.” This candid revelation offers a glimpse into the actor’s commitment to roles that challenge and inspire him.
