Season 6’s revelation of the moment Kate Middleton stole Prince William’s heart

The Crown takes us on a journey down memory lane, capturing the essence of Kate Middleton’s iconic fashion moment at the University of St. Andrews. Netflix, in a tantalizing move, released eight sneak peek photos, giving fans a glimpse into what the final chapter of this royal drama holds.

Part 1 of the sixth and ultimate season, which premiered on Nov. 16, delves into the heart-wrenching events surrounding Princess Diana’s tragic demise in 1997. However, the anticipation reaches its peak as Part 2, set to debut on Dec. 14, promises to unveil the early 2000s, including the genesis of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s legendary love story.

Netflix shared this royal revelation on Instagram with the caption, “A first look at the epic conclusion,” accompanied by the release date for Part 2. The montage unfolds a young William (Ed McVey) and Kate (Meg Bellamy) exchanging a longing look, followed by Queen Elizabeth (Imelda Staunton) standing regally with Prince Philip (Jonathan Pryce) by her side.

The visual journey takes an exciting turn as it showcases what appears to be the 2005 civil ceremony wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, now known as King Charles and Queen Camilla, portrayed by Dominic West and Olivia Williams.

But the real showstopper is the recreation of Kate Middleton’s iconic sheer dress from a 2002 fashion show at the University of St. Andrews. The dress, originally intended as a skirt, made headlines and reportedly caught Prince William’s eye. Designer Charlotte Todd, unknowingly playing a role in royal history, expressed her thrill at the impact her creation had on the royal love story.

The seductive slip, crafted as part of Todd’s university coursework titled ‘The Art of Seduction,’ sold at auction in 2011 for a staggering $125,000. Todd, reflecting on this unexpected turn of events, remarked, “It’s madness! Everyone says that the fashion show was when the romance started, so a small part of me will always be part of royal history.”

As we eagerly await the unveiling of this pivotal moment in Part 2 of season 6, Netflix teased us with additional images. From William (McVey) charming a crowd with a wave to Princess Margaret (Lesley Manville) exuding glamour by a pool and former Prime Minister Tony Blair (Bertie Carvel) delivering a stern speech – the final installment, consisting of six episodes, promises to tie up multiple storylines.

The conclusion will see Queen Elizabeth reflecting on her legacy, Charles and Camilla taking the next step in their relationship, and the charming Prince William falling head over heels for Kate during their college days in Scotland. The anticipation is real, and with Part 1 already streaming on Netflix, fans can’t wait to dive into the regal drama that unfolds in Part 2.
