Newly released emails from the Department of Justice’s latest Epstein file dump reveal that Prince Andrew worked to arrange a meeting between Jeffrey Epstein and Libyan dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi in late 2010.

Channel 4 News, which uncovered and first reported the emails, found that Epstein wanted to pitch himself as a money manager for Gaddafi, and turned to Andrew to make it happen.

The Email Chain

The exchanges began on October 7, 2010, when Epstein contacted David Stern, an associate of Andrew’s, writing: “i want to go to tripoli lets organize with pa.” PA was a known alias for Prince Andrew used throughout Epstein’s communications.

Stern responded that he had spoken with Andrew: “Tripoli can be organised, he wants more details.”

Epstein then explained his interest. People who had met Gaddafi, referred to in the emails as “the father,” had told Epstein that the Libyan leader “does not know where to put his money.” Epstein floated the idea that Andrew should make the introduction directly.

Stern relayed that Andrew “is thinking about the best approach” and would discuss it when they met in Hong Kong on October 17. Channel 4 confirmed that date lines up with Andrew’s official trade envoy diary, which shows a visit to China on that date.

On November 3, Epstein followed up. Stern replied that Andrew would be meeting “the man who is his link to the father tonight or tomorrow.”

The next day, November 4, Andrew emailed Epstein personally: “I will call you later this evening after I have had my chat with my Libyan contact to see what we can arrange for you in Tripoli.”

Hours later came a second message: “Libya fixed. Call me whenever.”

On November 7, Epstein wrote back referencing “your suggestion that i should meet the leader as he is in need of advice,” and said he would go to Tripoli “only if it is easy to organize and the meeting will definitely take place.”

The Meeting Likely Never Happened

Channel 4 reports that Epstein’s subsequent travel records show he flew from the UAE, where he was at the time, to Turkey and then France, not to Libya. The planned Tripoli meeting appears to have fallen through.

Context

At the time of these emails, Andrew was still serving as the UK’s Special Representative for International Trade and Investment. Epstein had already been convicted in 2008 under his Florida plea deal.

Andrew had previously visited Libya in his official capacity and had met both Colonel Gaddafi and his son Saif al-Islam Gaddafi. In other emails, Andrew refers to Gaddafi as “Brother Leader” and mentions having a contact with access to him.

The coded language throughout the chain, with aliases like “PA,” “the father,” and “the leader,” is consistent with patterns seen across other Epstein communications released in previous file dumps.

This revelation comes in the same week that Channel 4 also surfaced footage that appears to be from a hidden camera inside Epstein’s Palm Beach residence.

Andrew has been approached for comment.

This is a developing story.
